ESI health units get new docs, paramedics
As many as 55 doctors and 59 paramedics joined the Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospitals and dispensaries on Monday. An orientation programme was conducted for these newly recruited doctors and paramedics.
“Healthcare is a top priority of my government and we are consistently making efforts to provide affordable and quality health services to the people,” said chief minister Naveen Patnaik here on Monday while inaugurating the orientation programme for the newly recruited doctors and paramedics. Joining the programme through the virtual platform, Naveen said the recruitments will strengthen the healthcare delivery system particularly for all the eight lakh insured persons. He said the state government is fully committed to make desirable policy provisions to attract and retain human resources for healthcare in the tribal districts through financial and non-financial incentives to doctors working in the KBK (Kalahandi, Balangir, Koraput) region and remote areas.
State labour and ESI minister Sushant Singh said the chief minister has given approval for opening of four more ESI hospitals and 12 dispensaries.
Chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said new workforce was being created due to increasing industrialisation and they will be benefited by the ESI health insurance system.
