‘Ear infections on the rise due to weather change’

Noida: The change in weather, high levels of humidity, and compromised immunity due to prevalence of viral infections this monsoon have increased the number of patients approaching ENT doctors with pain in their ears and other fungal infections.

Doctors said over 30% of their patients are now reporting ear infections. “During this time of the year, ear infection cases increase but maintaining hygiene and improving daily nutrition can help cater to the problem,” said Dr Savyasachi Saxena, consultant, ENT, Fortis Hospital, Noida.

Doctors also advised the intake of 500 mg of Vitamin C daily to improve immuni.
