Dr. Neelam Mohan recieves Dr B C Roy National Award
Dr. Neelam Mohan is a pioneer in setting up a successful pediatric liver transplant program in India.
She is the Director, Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at Medanta, The Medicity, Gurgaon. This was the first such department in country established by her to offer dedicated services to children ranging from basic GI care to the zenith that’s liver transplantation. A pioneering doctor of Pediatric Hepatology and Liver Transplantation in India, she has to her credit many achievements that has put the country on the global medical map.
Dr. Neelam Mohan is a pioneer in setting up a successful pediatric liver transplant program in India. Her sincerity, dedication and passion was fruitful in producing excellent outcome at par with the best centres in World. She is credited with establishing the busiest Pediatric Liver Transplant programme in the country with more than 200 liver transplants in small children. She has achieved several firsts in her dynamic career in pediatric liver transplantation in India and few firsts in the world.
Her academic achievements have been hugely applauded and she has been invited as faculty for more than 600 presentations, lectures, oration, key note address in conference in various Indian cities and outside. She has more than 200 publications and has been among the experts writing international and national guidelines in Pediatric Hepatology.
She has recently been elected as Secretary and President Elect of Commonwealth Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (CAPGAN), first Indian to hold the coveted position. She has been the founder secretary of Indian society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN). Besides, significant clinical and academic achievements, she has been regular in her contribution to society through awareness seminars for schools & colleges and health camps.
