Dr. Jitendar Sharma appointed as Andhra Med Tech Zone CEO
AMTZ is proposed to have in-house high investment scientific facilities that would help manufacturers reduce the cost of manufacturing and is first of its kind in Asia.
State Government on 1st June also issued appointment orders for Dr. Jitendar Sharma, the head of health technology department at NHSRC under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and the advisor - health & medical technology to Government of Andhra Pradesh to be the Chief Executive Officer for the AMTZ project, who has been the brain behind the project.
Dr Sharma comes with an exhaustive experience of supporting the entire range of healthcare delivery systems-from a primary health centre to World Health Organization.
Earlier, he had served as hospital administrator at Sri Sathya Sai Baba's free hospital in Andhra Pradesh. He is known for leading several projects and health technology and research studies in leading institutions from AIIMS New Delhi to WHO- Switzerland.
Andhra Med Tech Zone aims to flourish as a hub of medical device manufacturing, putting India on the global map of high end medical equipment production and make health care products affordable and accessible.
