Diet plan can save kidney patients, say PGI doctors
Experts described the importance of a meticulous diet plan to a kidney-disease patient.
The doctors were concerned that diabetes and hypertension were giving chronic kidney disease (CKD) to an increasing section of population. Doctors H S Kohli and A K Mandal talked about the co-morbidities related to CKD and Dr Mukut Minz about renal replacement therapy and the preventive strategies to manage kidney stones. Experts described the importance of a meticulous diet plan to a kidney-disease patient.
The 300-odd delegates included doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, and students of dietetics from the Tricity, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi. PGI chief dietician Sunita Malhotra and her team had joined Nutrition Society of India convener Dr S V Rana in organising the event.
