“The municipality did not take any precautions despite warnings from the opposition, If the municipality lacks resources, the state govt has ordered to recruit adequate contract staff for containing the spread of the disease, but they are not availing it,” said TA Assainar, the opposition leader of the municipality.
Earlier in June, 150 cases were recorded within the municipality and those who were infected with the disease included several officials of the municipality, and some of the students at Kalamassery Medical College.
