Delhi reports 4th Monkeypox, India’s tally at 9
A 31-year-old Nigerian woman is tested positive for monkeypox the first woman in the country to test positive for the zoonotic disease.
A Nigerian woman has been brought to LNJP hospital with a fever and skin problems. They added that her samples were sent for testing, and the results were positive.
She is the first woman in the country to test positive for monkeypox. There is no evidence that she recently travelled abroad.
The first monkeypox patient in Delhi was discharged on Monday from the LNJP hospital.
So far there is one casualty confirmed due to monkeypox. A youth who had arrived in Thrissur, Kerala from the UAE a few days ago succumbed to the infection.
