Covid-19: Civic vaccination centres closed across Mumbai today

Civic vaccination centres will be closed today due to a public holiday on account of Ambedkar Jayanti. It will resume tomorrow, said a BMC press release. On Wednesday, 16,476 people took the Covid vaccine in Mumbai's 293 vaccination centres.

Mumbai: Civic vaccination centres will be closed today due to a public holiday on account of Ambedkar Jayanti. It will resume tomorrow, said a BMC press release. On Wednesday, 16,476 people took the Covid vaccine in Mumbai's 293 vaccination centres.

This turnout included 2,385 people in the 18-59 age group who took the booster dose. "The booster drive has been sluggish, but we hope it will pick up," said BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani. He said the BMC public health team is trying to analyse the reasons for this reluctance.
