Clinic run by fake doctor sealed in Mullanpur, 1 held
According to the police, the accused was running the clinic illegally from the last three years and did not have any mandatory degree or diploma to do so.
A case of cheating has been registered against the clinic owner, who has been identified as Rampal (40) of Mullanpur, and cops have started further investigation into the matter. According to the police, the accused was running the clinic illegally from the last three years and did not have any mandatory degree or diploma to do so.
According to cops, the raid was conducted as the police suspected that the accused was selling drug. However, no drugs were recoverd from the clinic. However, he was failed to produce any document required to run the clinic.
Mullanpur station house officer (SHO) Inspector Rajesh Asteer said, “Officials from the STF and NCB had received information that the accused was smuggling drugs. Acting on the information, a raid was conducted at his clinic on Tuesday evening. During the raid we did not find any narcotic substance, but came to know that the accused did not have any medical degree or diploma.”
Asteer added, “We asked the accused to produce required licence, degree on any other documents necessary for running a clinic, but he failed to produce any. Following this, we have sealed his clinic and arrested him.”
A case under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 465 (punishment for forgery) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Rampal at Mullanpur police station.
