Centre inaugurates Deoghar AIIMS
The health institute, the foundation of which was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018, was opened for the public a couple of days ahead of the scheduled date of hearing by the Jharkhand high court over the prevailing deadlock between the Hemant Soren government and opposition BJP on the issue.

Earlier, the Centre had cancelled the scheduled inauguration of the institute on June 26 citing “unavoidable circumstances”. Soon after, the state government approached the high court against the “inordinate delay”. The high court had fixed August 26 as the date of hearing in the case.
Meanwhile, the ruling dispensation did not miss an opportunity to take credit for the inauguration by putting up large cut-outs and hoardings of chief minister Hemant Soren in an around AIIMS, Deoghar. State health minister Banna Gupta along with his art and culture counterpart Hafizul Hassan were also present during the inauguration.
