Despite intensive medical efforts over three days to save him, he succumbed to severe bleeding in the brain. The medical staff explained the organ donation process to Jagadeesh's wife, son, daughter, and relatives, who ultimately agreed to donate his organs.
Dr K Rambabu, the state coordinator for Jeevandan, stated that Jeevandan promptly granted permission for the collection of organs. "His kidneys and lungs were successfully removed and allocated to three patients according to the seniority list established by the Jeevandan protocol. The family expressed pride in their decision to bring light to the lives of others, even in their darkest hour. Locals also appreciated their selfless act," said Dr Rambabu.
"Families of several brain-dead individuals have come forward to donate organs in recent months. This is made possible by the support from the state govt, the awareness created by the Jeevandan staff, and the hospital doctors. Despite their sorrow, Jagadeesh's family thought of bringing light to three other lives. They should be seen as an example for others. With thousands of patients in the state waiting for organ transplants, the actions of Jagadeesh's family offer hope and demonstrate the profound impact of organ donation in saving lives," added Dr Rambabu.
