According to Blinkit's statement, the ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, automated external defibrillators (AED), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medicines. Additionally, they feature a scoop stretcher and a wheelchair to ensure the safe transport of patients.
Each ambulance is staffed with a paramedic, a duty assistant, and a trained driver to deliver timely and reliable care.
“This is our first step toward addressing the challenge of providing quick and reliable ambulance services in urban areas. The initial fleet of five ambulances will operate in Gurugram starting today,” Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared in a post on LinkedIn.
Dhindsa also outlined the company’s broader vision, emphasising plans to expand the service to all major cities within two years. He reiterated that the initiative is focused on solving a critical healthcare problem, with profit not being a priority. "We will provide this service at an affordable cost and invest in building a sustainable solution for the long term," he added.
The pilot project marks Blinkit’s entry into healthcare services, aiming to improve emergency response times while ensuring accessibility and affordability for users.
