AP chief minister Jagan steps in to help teen cancer patient

VISAKHAPATNAM: AP chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy extended a helping hand to a cancer patient during his visit to Sarada Peetham in the city on Tuesday.

While returning to the airport after his visit, some teenagers help up a banner urging the chief minister to help save their friend Neeraj, a 17-year-old blood cancer patient.

Jagan stopped his convoy, stepped downed from the vehicle and enquired about the contents of the banner, which read: "Save our friend Neeraj who is fighting against cancer. Please help our friend with money for his treatment. Prove that humanity still exists..." He immediately asked the district collector to take all necessary steps to help the cancer patient.

"We were waiting for our CM at the airport when he landed in Vizag, but he did not notice us while going to Sarada Peetham. Still we didn't lose hope. Local YSRC leader K K Raju supported us a lot. While returning, the CM saw the banner and stopped his vehicle. We were thrilled when he enquired about Neeraj," said Vineeta, a friend of Neeraj.
