Ambulance staff perform delivery
The incident took place between village Satlana and health centre in Palia in the district in the morning, when a pregnant woman, Manju Singh, was on her way to hospital. Manju sensed pain at 10.33am. The family members called 108 services, following which an ambulance reached their village in a couple of minutes. An Asha, family members accompanied Manju in an ambulance.

Before reaching the health facility, the pain rose to maximum level. The EMT, pilot and Asha worker took permission from family members to conduct delivery in an ambulance and conducted it successfully.
Manju delivered a healthy boy. Immediately after delivery they were shifted to hospital. CMHO Dr BS Saitya said, “Both the mother and son are fine and healthy. The immediate and appropriate response from staff inside the ambulance led to successful delivery.”
