Ajmer : ACB told to book medical and health department official
Special anti-corruption court directed the director general of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to register a case against the joint director of medical and health department of Ajmer zone,
The complaint was filed by retired chief medical and health officer Dr Laxman Harchandani in which he also gave documents to the court alleging a case of corruption against the accused. Dr Harchandani told TOI that there are various documents produced in the court that show how the budget for different programmes for delivery rooms of government hospitals were misused. He alleged that there are financial improprieties which needed to be investigated.
Advocate Pritam Singh Soni showed the order of the court and said that complainant Harchandani went first to the ACB with the documents. However, the ACB did not take the matter seriously. It was alleged that various facilities under different government programmes that a woman should get after delivery, never reached them. Harchandani said that at the time of his tenure, he inspected a government hospital of Nasirabad as chief medical and health officer and reported that facilities to mother and newborn baby had not been provided in those wards.
The court in the order said that the complainant is providing documents to prove his charges but ACB without investigating the matter, sent the complaint to the medical and health department for departmental action. The court also directed the ACB to inform about the investigation of this case to the court.
