Ahmedabad: 60% jump in daily Covid cases in a day

Ahmedabad: Gujarat in the 24 hours ending at 5pm on Friday recorded 16 new Covid-19 positive cases. It was a 60% jump in a day from 10 on Thursday. With discharge of 17 persons and death of a Covid patient from Bhavnagar district, the active cases got reduced by two to reach 149.

The new positive cases included 4 each from Ahmedabad and Vadodara cities, 3 from Bhavnagar, 2 each from Surat city and district, and 1 from Mahisagar district.

The number of patients on ventilator increased to 5, as the death toll reached 10,082 with the death of a patient. The recovery rate remained at 98.7%.

Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 5.25 lakh persons including 3.52 lakh for the first and 1.73 lakh for the second doses. Ahmedabad recorded vaccination of 38,693 persons.
