66 docs appointed on contractual basis in tribal districts
Chhattisgarh government has appointed a total of 66 MBBS students to the posts of doctors on contractual basis. All these doctors have been posted in the health centers of tribal-dominated districts of Bastar and Surguja divisions.
Health and Family Welfare Department has issued an order for two-year contractual appointment in the name of 66 doctors. These new doctors have been asked to join duty immediately. They are also directed to produce a certificate issued by the Medical Board of the concerned district within 15 days of joining duty. These doctors posted in tribal areas will receive an honorarium of Rs 55,000 every month. In non-Maoist-affected areas, this honorarium is Rs45,000 rupees per month. According to the appointment order, the doctors will have to reside at their place of appointment.
The appointment has been made under a two-year compulsory service bond of medical education. They will have to compulsorily complete this service period. If these doctors do not join the concerned centre or do not complete the tenure of two years after joining, the bond amount will be recovered from them. Their registration with the Medical Council may also be cancelled.
In Bastar divisions, the MBBS doctors are appointed at 47 heath centres.
In Surguja, meanwhile, the doctors are appointed at 20 health centres.
