Trauma care, research centres to come up at 75 places: Health min
Speaking on the sidelines of an event in Pudukottai, Vijayabaskar said that an air ambulance facility would also be introduced apart from rehabilitation centres for the accident victims. The minister, who along with his medical team visited Victoria state in Australia recently, exchanged a ‘statement of intent’ there on improving accident and emergency health care in Tamil Nadu. He expressed confidence in providing world class treatment in accident and emergency healthcare in the state.
The air ambulance facility would effectively be used for speedy transportation of organs for transplantation surgeries.
Speaking on the initiatives for Kerala relief, he said to contain communicable diseases after the floods, Tamil Nadu has sent Rs 2.20 worth chlorine tablets in two phases. Besides, the government is also planning to send about 500 tonnes of bleaching powder.
A 200-member medical team from across 40 government hospitals in the bordering districts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala have camped in 320 places in Kerala and carrying out relief work.
