Tenders for 15 Sanjeevani Clinics floated by IMC
The clinics would be created on a minimum area of around 2500 square feet and could also be developed as clusters. The central government, under 15th Financial Commission, has sanctioned funds of Rs 25 lakh to construct, upgrade one urban health and wellness center.
These are among those proposed 87 UPHCs to be set up in the city under the scheme covering around 25,000 people mainly residing in slums/ economically lower class areas.
District health nodal for Sanjeevani clinics Dr Amit Malakar confirmed development and said, “The IMC issued tenders for setting up of 15 Sanjeevani clinics in the district. The tenders for others will be issued after the election as no new work couldn’t begin because of the model code of conduct for elections to local bodies.”
Earlier, the health authorities along with IMC officials had identified land parcels for around 60 clinics in the district and found them feasible. The reports of land parcels were sent to district administration and tenders were issued following their approvals.

In Indore, the health department is presently operating a total 34 urban dispensaries.
