Symbiosis starts home and geriatric health care
The Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre (SUHRC) has launched two initiatives one for the elderly care and another for home healthcare which will be inaugurated on Tuesday.
The Symbiosis Centre for Geriatric Care is taking steps toward caring for the elderly without them feeling unwanted, addressing their medical and social requirements. Dean of faculty of health sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Rajiv Yeravdekar, said, “All services at this centre are within a well-confined area. Accessibility is ensured. The patient will be holistically assessed under one roof and in close proximity. This facilitates a care plan following consultations across specialists, better compliance to treatment plans and better outcomes.”
The second initiative looks into home healthcare centre is a unique model that provides core clinical services after discharge from hospital and assist those who were not admitted to hospital.
