Radiologist appointed KEM dean

MUMBAI: Noted interventional radiologist Dr Hemant Deshmukh was appointed as dean of KEM Hospital, Parel, on Wednesday.

He succeeded Dr Avinash Supe, who retired from the post after serving for three years and nine months. "I will work for KEM's progress 24/7," Dr Deshmukh told TOI.

Municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta said that Dr Deshmukh will only be holding the dean's position for now. Additional municipal commissioner I S Kundan said a decision on the post of director of major hospitals, which Dr Supe was holding till now, will soon be taken.

"We will be deciding on who will be given the director's charge. It will be decided soon as the job of coordinating between big hospitals is crucial," she said.
