PGI staff union to hold rally on December 28
The demands include implementation of grade pay of Rs 4,600 to medical technologists as recommended by Dr Ashok Gupta Committee, stoppage of generic medicines, separate ward for PGI staff and dependants, making compassionate appointments and so on.
A candle march will also be taken out from exhibition ground to BJP office in which the elected representatives of PGI Employees Union (Non-Faculty), PGI medical technologists, PGI Safai Karmachari Union, PGI Laboratory Attendants Association, PGI Security Guard Association will participate.
PGI Contract Workers union and others will submit a memorandum to Sanjay Tandon, president, BJP, Chandigarh.
The demands include implementation of grade pay of Rs 4,600 to medical technologists as recommended by Dr Ashok Gupta Committee, stoppage of generic medicines, separate ward for PGI staff and dependants, making compassionate appointments and so on.
Other demands include restoration of over 400 posts abolished by coordination committee, filling up of all vacant promotional and direct recruitments posts, dress allowance of Rs 10,000 per year, removal of pay anomaly of hospital attendants and sanitation attendants, promotion of existing technicians all cadres.
Earlier, the union had staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, and submitted memorandum to J P Nadda, union health minister at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
