No doctors to do night shift, six CR stations to shut Re 1 clinics
Under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the railways had provided space to any private entity willing to provide ‘Golden Hour’ treatment to accident victims and arrange for their admission to a government hospital.
Under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the railways had provided space to any private entity willing to provide ‘Golden Hour’ treatment to accident victims and arrange for their admission to a government hospital.
Dr Rahul Ghule of Magicdil that operates the clinics said, “We have been told to shut the clinics for not having onduty MBBS doctors during the night shift. There is a genuine shortage of MBBS doctors, which has been brought to the administration’s notice. But they decided to terminate the contract at six stations on this issue.”
The clinics will stop at Wadala, Govandi, Vashi, Mulund, Kurla and Ghatkopar.
CR’s chief PRO Sunil Udasi said, “On receipt of complaints that EMRs were not being operated as per terms and conditions, checks were conducted and it was found that MBBS doctors were not available. This is a serious breach of contract. A warning was given to make MBBS doctors available. On continually failing, notices were served. Still, MBBS doctors were not made available. We have no option but to terminate the contract of all parties (Magicdil and AIIMS hospital) as they failed to comply with the terms of the contract.”
