New PCR lab in PC Sethi hospital for viral disease test

Indore: Health authorities in the district are setting up an advanced microbiology laboratory at PC Sethi hospital with PCR machines.

The new lab in the hospital is undergoing installation of PCR machines, equipment for Elisa based testing, TrueNAAT machines.

The lab will help in curtailing dependency on the virology laboratory of MGM up to a great extent as it will diagnose several bacterial, fungal and viral diseases.

Because of this lab, the health authorities can easily test samples for TB, dengue, Covid-19, swine flu and other vial diseases. The testing of dengue has already begun in the lab.

PC Sethi Superintendent Dr Nikhil Oza told the media agency, “We are in the process of setting up an advanced microbiology laboratory equipped with PCR machines and equipment for Elisa based testing.”

“The installation of several machines is done in the last week in the lab. The process for other’s installation is on”,said Dr Oza.

The lab will become functional by next week, added Dr Oza.
