NAVI MUMBAI: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), on Thursday, ordered the Palm Beach Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Sector 28, Vashi, not to admit any Covid-19 patients till further notice from the civic body.

The hospital was found treating Covid-19 patients without requisite permissions from NMMC.

The operations at the hospital have been suspended for 15 days from the date of discharge of the last Covid patient. The hospital has been advised to apply for permission.

“The hospital has been admitting and treating Covid patients without authorization. There’s reasonable scope to doubt that the hospital has been treating Covid patients without adhering to the guidelines issued by ICMR and the Government of Maharashtra,” said NMMC commissioner Abhijit Bangar.

On September 19, NMMC had issued a show cause notice to the hospital. “Despite the notice, they chose not to revert. This has led us to initiate action,” said a civic official.
