MNS to keep watch on NEET admissions

PUNE: MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who was in the city on Wednesday, said the state government should make a law to give local students admissions to medical colleges on priority.

“The admission process to medical colleges is hanging in the balance in the state due to mismanagement of NEET exam. The lacuna created in the system by the state government is affecting the students. It seems to have been done deliberately by the state authorities so that students from other states find it easy to get admissions here,” he said.

“Our demand is that preference should be given to students who have completed their Standard X and XII from Maharashtra. If the seats remain vacant after that, then, students from other states should be considered. We will keep an eye on the medical admissions,” Thackeray said.
