Kolkata : Transplant units, 250 new beds for Ruby General hospital
A leading private hospital off EM Bypass is set to ramp up its infrastructure as part of an expansion project.
Currently, the hospital has 278 beds, while 250 more beds will be added by the next year. The hospital authorities are planning to add 14 floors to the existing three-storey annexe building, which will have 25 beds in addition to other facilities. However, the construction work will start once the hospital gets nod from the authorities concerned.
“This is a Rs 75crore project and we are targeting to complete the construction by October 2020,” said Kamal K Dutta, chairman and managing director of the hospital.
As part of the silver jubilee celebrations, the hospital authorities have rolled out ‘Dipti’, a scholarship scheme, that will aid the secondary education of around 20 students every year.
Applications will be invited from the needy students after the publication of Class X board examination results. A panel will select the deserving students who will be awarded with Rs 75,000 each to assist their schooling for two years. “Starting with the scholarship scheme, we want to take more initiatives for social welfare in the future,” said Dr Dutta.
