Karnal medical college gets nod for four super specialist doctors
Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Hospital is soon going to become a super specialist hospital
The medical college director claimed that the advertisement would be published in the first week of June to fill these posts. The interview of the doctors would be conducted very soon so that the patients get the benefit.
In 2012, the college started in the city. On becoming a medical college, people had hoped that now they would not have to go to a private hospital, but the patients and management had been facing problems due to no super-specialist doctors. This had been causing resentment among residents. Patient from other districts, including Kaithal, Panipat and Kurukshetra, who come to the medical college are referred to Rohtak and Chandigarh, PGI.
Apart from this, cases of brain haemorrhage and brain tumour are still being referred to private hospitals. But now, people hope that after joining of super-specialist doctors the number of cases being referred would decrease. After joining of these four super-specialist doctors, patients of heart, trauma, brain tumours, infections of brain or spine, stroke, oesophagus, stomach and kidney patients would be benefited.
Surinder Kashyap, director, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Hospital, said Haryana government had given the approval to create four posts of super-specialist doctors, including cardiologist, neurosurgeon, gastroenterologist and nephrologist. The advertisement would be published in the first week of June to fill these posts.
