Illegal construction: Udaipur civic body seals parts of GBH hospital

Udaipur: The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) sealed parts of GBH Hospital on Wednesday following charges of illegal construction being raised in the state assembly.

The hospital, constructed by American International Health Management Ltd in Bedwas, witnessed protests from staff and medical students against the action.

BJP MLA from Udaipur rural seat, Phool Chand Meena brought up the hospital matter in the assembly on July 22.

UDH minister Jhabar Singh Kharra subsequently announced that illegally constructed buildings would be seized within 72 hours, stating that American International Health Management Ltd had exceeded its approved construction limits.

The team seized the fourth to eighth floors of the PG hostel and the upper floors of two residential complex buildings amidst protests from the hospital staff and students.
