Humanist-Cytecare Institute for Dialysis and Renal Diseases launched
Cytecare Hospitals, in association with Humanist Centre for Medicine (Humanist), launches a state-of-the art dialysis centre aimed at providing comprehensive care and treatment for individuals with kidney failure or dysfunction. With the launch of this Institute, Cytecare aims to advance its mission to provide holistic healthcare solutions.
According to the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme, roughly 2.2 lakh individuals in India are diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) each year, creating a 3.4 crore annual need for dialysis. Less than half of the demand is satisfied by the infrastructure currently in place in India, which has roughly 4950 dialysis centres, the most of which are private. Not to mention the expensive nature of the treatment, which prevents the majority of people from receiving it.
The Institute was inaugurated by principal donor Dr A. S. Arvind along with other key donors including Shalini and Sudhir Sethi, Naheed and Arif Vazirally, DN Prahlad and Siva and Royan Foundation. The event was graced by Mrs. Shalini Sethi - Director, Humanist Centre for Medicine, Dr. Ferzaan Engineer - Co-Founder and Chairman, Cytecare Hospitals; Suresh Ramu, Co-founder and CEO, Cytecare Hospitals and Dr. Girish N. S. - Senior Consultant Nephrologist.
Speaking at the launch of the Humanist-Cytecare Institute, Ramu said, “We are glad to partner with Humanist for this important public health initiative. While Cytecare has provided the space as well as clinical and management support for the institute, Humanist, along with its donors, has put in the capital for the procurement of the dialysis machines and the Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant required for the centre. The Humanist-Cytecare Institute will offer a range of services aimed at providing comprehensive care and treatment for individuals with kidney failure or severe kidney dysfunction. These services are designed to address the medical needs of the patients as well as their overall well-being.”
Cytecare Hospitals remains committed to pushing the boundaries of medical care and embracing innovation that enhances the lives of patients. The launch of the Nephrology Institute stands as a testament to this commitment, offering renewed hope and healing to patients in need.
