Hope shareholders see merit in our offer: Sunil Munjal of Hero Enterprise after winning Fortis bid

The chairman of Hero Enterprise Sunil Munjal has expressed confidence that the shareholders of Fortis Healthcare will see merit in the joint bid put forward by him and Dabur's Anand Burman.

Speaking to the media after the Fortis Healthcare's board approved their bid late last night, Sunil Munjal said that both of them -- Munjals and Burmans -- have extensive experience in healthcare.

Dabur's Anand Burman said that the current management at Fortis is expected to continue and they have asked for three seats on the board.

Sunil Munjal said that healthcare and education are two important social goods for any country and in India private sector has an important role to play in providing healthcare.

The duo expect to get a speedy approval from the shareholders and the CCI as the company has an urgent requirement of liquidity.
