‘Graduation, PG needed in naturopathy’

Experts of Naturopathy and AYUSH streams of medical sciences appealed the state government and the MUHS to start graduation, and post-graduation courses in Naturopathy.
“State-level committee should be formed to decide representation of the naturopaths and a state-level curriculum for naturopathy should be constituted. Later, the state health universities can use these academic activities for introducing formal UG and PG courses,” said Bhagwan Maharaj Thakre of Shiv Goraksha Yog Peeth.
Anand Biradar, president of INO stated that the Central government has taken many initiatives to promote Naturopathy that can provide long term solutions on the lifestyle diseases. “The government has decided to celebrate November 18 as Naturopathy Day. We will be using this opportunity to promote naturopathy on various platforms. This is our ancient way to stay fit and India should revisit the wisdom of our ancestors,” he said. The poster about the Naturopathy day and its significance was unveiled at the hands of dignitaries during the function.
Satya Laxmi, director of the Pune-based National Institute of Naturopathy told that the government has allotted Rs 200 crore grant for the institute. “The institute will be functional from the premises of 25 acres and it will play the most important role in promoting naturopathy,” she said.
