Free cancer consultations in hosps from Feb 4

Patna/Gaya: State health minister Mangal Pandey on Wednesday said free cancer consultation will be organised from February 4 to February 10 in different government health facilities, including district hospitals, suv-divisional hospitals, referral hospitals, primary health centres (PHCs), APHCs and other health and wellness centres across the state.

Meanwhile, in Gaya, a week-long cancer awareness campaign and consultancy programme will begin on February 4 on the occasion of Cancer Awareness Day. Awareness will be generated about symptoms, treatment and early detection through banners, posters and hoardings in rural as well as urban areas by the health department.

Non-communicable disease officer Firoz Ahmad said, “The awareness campaign will begin on February 4 and continue till February 10. During the period, patients visiting all the 24 primary health centres, 57 additional primary health centres, eight urban primary health centres, two referral hospitals at Tekari and Sherghati and the sadar hospital in Gaya town will be made aware by the doctors at the OPD. ”
