Fire breaks out at Wadia Hospital, no casualties
A massive fire broke out at Wadia Hospital in Shukrawar Peth around 1pm on Monday.
The incident occurred on the third floor terrace of the hospital where wooden chairs and plywood along with plastic material were kept.
The fire department was informed at 1.30 pm and two fire trucks along with three water tankers were rushed to the spot. It took half an hour for the officers to douse the flames.
Sameer Shaikh, a senior fireman at the spot, told Mirror, “The hospital was getting renovated and there were chairs and other equipment on the terrace.
Since there are no plug points there, the fire is not caused due to electrical problems. We do not know the cause of fire yet.”
When contacted, Solomon Acharya, site engineer at Wadia Hospital, informed, “Nobody was hurt. The fire did not spread to other places as we took care of that. The hospital has incurred loss worth some lakhs.”
