Expansion of control room services for emergency assistance at AIIMS

New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has decided to create additional outposts of their control room at all public entry points in the institute in order to provide easy access to patients. These outposts will be operational by March 31.

As of now, AIIMS control room is situated near the medical superintendent office for providing emergency assistance to all patients and staff.

According to office memorandum issued by the director Prof M Srinivas on Thursday, it is noted that often patients need assistance on arrival at AIIMS and are not aware of the location of the control room. Hence it has been decided to create additional outposts of the control room at all public entry points of the institute.

“These outposts shall work as spokes for the central control room and will be manned by patient care managers and security supervisors working in coordination with the duty officer. The outposts will have a large glass window for easy visibility and will be equipped with mobile and intercom connectivity with the duty officer”, the order said.

All communications to and from the said outposts will be recorded and recorders will be installed in all outposts for the purpose of audit and records.
