Dog bite patients to get MC assistance at Panchkula civil hospital
Panchkula municipal commissioner Rajesh Jogpal on Friday decided that there would be a special counter at the civil hospital 6 where a staff member of the civic body would be deployed to assist the dog bite patients.

He added that as soon as the counter was be available, a staff member of the MC would be deployed there. The staffer would be stationed from 9am to 5pm (Monday to Saturday) to assist dog bite patients. The hospital has agreed to provide the counter to the MC. he added.
In order to assist the persons with dog bite, a special counter at the civil hospital has been set up by the authorities. The Panchkula civic body has appointed Shiv Kuushal as honorary consultant, who assist in dog-related issues.
As per MC records, as many as 4015 dogs have been sterilised by the MC from May 20l8 till date. The work was allotted to an agency in May and it had been doing the job effectively, Jogpal had said earlier.
The civic body is also planning another project for managing stray dogs and socialise biting stray dogs. For the purpose a dog kennel at the cost of Rs 3 crore is coming up at Sukhdarshanpur village for which work order has been issued and the construction s in progress.
The dog rescue and rehabilitation centre will be spread over two acres and will have an initial capacity of accommodating 500 dogs. The capacity will be extended to 1,000 in a phased manner.
