MY Hospital told the court that work for installation of piped oxygen supply to wards in hospital was underway and would be completed soon. The court sought status report from the hospital.
Social activist Pramod Kumar Dwivedi, in his petition through advocate Manish Yadav and advocate Nivedita Sharma, said that 17 people including children died within 24 hours on June 22, 2017.
MY Hospital told the court that work for installation of piped oxygen supply to wards in hospital was underway and would be completed soon. The court sought status report from the hospital. A division bench of justice SC Sharma and justice Virendra Singh gave time to the hospital for filing of report and fixed the next date of hearing on January 17 next year.
Though the hospital doctors attributed deaths to dangerous diseases, through newspapers and media reports, it came to the fore that disruption in oxygen supply caused deaths, said Sharma.
The management entrusted responsibility of oxygen supply to the hospital to an ineligible person and disruption caused deaths, said Sharma. The hospital management began work for installation of oxygen supply line in the hospital, informed the government lawyer.
