DELHI : Govt shifts medical chiefs of 11 hospitals
In a major reshuffle, the Delhi government on Friday issued orders for the transfer of medical superintendents of 11 state-run hospitals. This includes Lok Nayak, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Baba Sahib Ambedkar hospitals.
The transfer order, a copy of which is with TOI, states: “The transferred officials shall stand relieved with effect from Monday, if not relieved earlier, from the present place of posting without awaiting formal relieving. Non-compliance will be viewed seriously and disciplinary action as deemed fit shall be initiated without any further reference.” The move comes days after the doctors’ strike in the city paralysed health services. Resident doctors had complained about lack of security and shortage of medicines.
“The transfers are routine. It is aimed to strengthen the administration in hospitals,” said an official.
