Delhi Doctor ‘suicide’: No autopsy yet
Four days after a doctor was found dead in Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, her family has been running pillar to post, to get her autopsy done. Though an order has been issued to form a medical board, the autopsy was not conducted on Tuesday as well.
The family of Dr Aastha Munjal said the autopsy was deferred on Sunday and Monday citing non-availability of the staff at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. On Monday night, an SDM order asking the area DCP to form a medical board to conduct the postmortem was issued.
The family alleged that despite the order, the hospital authorities refused to form a board. “We are hoping that the case is taken seriously. The viscera are bound to be contaminated due to the delay, and we will not be able to get a clear picture behind the incident. Once the autopsy is complete, we can complete the last rights. We suspect foul play into this as well,” said Munjal’s uncle Jitender Harjai.
Meanwhile, the cops have sent the three vials of medicines which were found beside Munjal’s body for a forensic examination to establish their content. They would also take opinions from doctors to find out the effects and dosage of the medicines, which are suspected to have been injected in Munjal’s body leading to her death.
