Dehradun: Two hosps de-empaneled from Atal Ayushman
So far, 11 hospitals have been de-empaneled from Atal Ayushman scheme from Uttarakhand due to fraudulent practices.
Speaking to TOI, Abhishek Tripathi, director Atal Ayushman Scheme (Uttarakhand) said that both these hospitals were served notices in July but they failed to give satisfactory clarifications in response to the allegations.
“The first hospital, which has been de-empaneled, forged patients’ history and its authorities didn’t follow the protocols relating to pre-authorisation of surgeries. The hospital even charged patients and took money for treatment in cash. Thus, the authorities have been asked to return an amount of Rs 4,17,300, which was sanctioned to them for various cases. They have been given a week for the same,” Tripathi added.
With regards to the other de-empaneled hospital, Tripathi said that the hospital authorities informed that some government hospital doctors were working full-time with them, which is against norms. “This hospital submitted several claims which aren’t covered under Atal Ayushman Scheme. The hospital even charged extra money for cataract surgeries,” informed Tripathi. The authorities of this hospital have been asked to return Rs 1.63 lakhs to the government within seven days.
