Send back unsegregated muck, says mayor
With garbage heaps piling up in parts of the city after the festive week, the mayor took stock of the situation at Mavallipura and Doddaballapur waste-processing units. At Mavallipura, G Padmavathi instructed the staff not to accept unsegregated waste. She said the unit may find it difficult to handle excess muck; it receives 250 tonnes every day.
At the Doddaballapur unit, which gets 500 tonnes of waste daily, the mayor asked the staff to speed up the process to avoid accumulation. “All efforts should be made to process the waste on the same day,“ she said.
