Asia's biggest government hospital to launch mobile app
Balrampur Hospital, touted as Asia's biggest government hospital, would soon launch a mobile app to help patients. Thus, those heading to the hospital for consultation and testing will not have to go back to collect their reports.
Addressing reporters, director, Dr EU Siddiqui said, “The mobile app to help patients download test reports online. It will also apprise them about facilities being provided by the hospital.”
Dr Siddiqui stated that the app was one of the many patient-friendly initiatives proposed by the hospital. “Patients would also have access to free wi-fi in the campus. They will also be saved from unnecessary running to the hospital as they may opt for planned visits by using a helpline facility being started,” he said.
Citing another example he said, “The facility for dialysis is being augmented through public private partnership.”
He claimed that in order to cut down risk of infection among neurosurgery patients, a separate operation theatre is being constructed. “The new OT would be ready for use by the year end,” said chief medical superintendent Dr Rajeev Lochan, adding, “we are also getting old and irreparable equipment replaced.”
Doctors said separate committees have been formed to monitor the joint replacement surgeries, increase number of ICUs and to set up a state-of-the-art dental treatment unit. They also informed that progress would be regularly monitored.
