This app will help consult doctors online
Got to check blood pressure and diabetes or clarify doubts about growing health issues, but little time to visit a clinic? Just tap the PeopleHealth app on mobile phone and choose a doctor of your choice from across the globe.
Along with the formation of the Karnataka chapter of the Telemedicine Society of India on Saturday, this app was launched to ensure the workability of telemedicine based on its popularity in both rural and urban Karnataka. "Telemedicine is as useful in cities as it is in rural areas where people have limited access to experts. In remote areas, telemedicine has become a life support. Increasing traffic congestion and busy schedule prompt many city-dwellers to depend on telemedicine," said Dr Sunita Maheshwari, president of the Telemedicine Society of India-Karnataka chapter.
G Krishnamurthy, CEO of PeopleHealth, an online market venture of medicines, said: "This app will help people save time and money, yet get the best treatment. Patients can consult experts day and night from their homes, workplaces or while travelling. Health reports can be reviewed and treatment opinions can be fetched from doctors during the audio-visual consultancy. Many city hospitals are keen on utilizing the benefits of telemedicine."
