Phaneesh Murthy-founded firm launches health exchange portal called Zigy.com
PM Health and Life Care (PMHLC) has launched a health exchange portal called Zigy.com, that connects chemists and druggists with consumers.
The platform will act as an online marketplace where customers can purchase prescription based medicines and health-related products, over the online counter. The platform also provides storage of unlimited medical records of patients on the cloud that can be accessed at any time. The Zigy HealthVault, as it is called, will hold not only the medical information of the patient, but that of the patient’s family members as well.
“Zigy is committed to improving the quality of healthcare, affordability and accesssibility for a large segment of the Indian population,” said Murthy, cofounder and executive chairman, PMHLC, which is mainly focusing on chronic patients for now.
Modelled mainly for chronic disease patients, who require regular and routine intake of medicines, the company partners with local chemists and has a tie-up with a logistics partner for delivery.
The company’s chief executive officer Hemant Bhardwaj estimates the platform to clock one million transactions in the first year of operations. The company plans to raise a series A round of $10 to 12 million (Rs 66 crore to Rs 80 crore) according to Murthy.
