Now, KGMU launches blood donors’ booklet
Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday launched the booklet at Raj Bhawan containing contact numbers, consent letters and details of the blood group of 6,000 voluntary donors who want to donate platelets in case of emergency.

Head of transfusion medicine, KGMU, Prof Tulika Chandra said, “For the first time in UP a blood bank is introducing a registry that will prove beneficial to patients who do not have donors.” She explained that platelets are essential for blood clotting, and they are often needed by patients with cancer, leukemia, and other blood disorders.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said, “People must donate blood at least once a year as by doing so they can save human lives.”
