HC denies bail to Delhi doctor who cheatedMBBS aspirants
They promised to secure a seat for the complainants’ children after receiving 7.4 lakh and 7.5 lakh respectively. However, when the children of the complainants reached Ukraine, they were admitted to a literature course equivalent to a BA.
“Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner,” Justice R M T Teekaa Raman said on Wednesday.
The court passed the order while dismissing two bail applications moved by Johithadhithya, a doctor practising in a private hospital in Delhi.
According to the prosecution, the parents of the petitioner approached the parents of the two medical aspirants stating that their son is studying MBBS in Bogomolet College in Ukraine.
They promised to secure a seat for the complainants’ children after receiving 7.4 lakh and 7.5 lakh respectively. However, when the children of the complainants reached Ukraine, they were admitted to a literature course equivalent to a BA.
As Johithadhithya and his parents did not return the money, they approached the District Crime Branch, Erode and lodged a complaint.
Apprehending arrest, the petitioner moved the present petitions. When the plea came up for hearing, he submitted that currently he was working as a doctor in Delhi and that the alleged offence happened in 2018 while the FIR was registered only in 2019.
Opposing the pleas, the prosecution told the court that the petitioner was not cooperating with the investigation and had not honoured summons for his appearance.
Recording the submissions, the court dismissed the pleas.
