Women continue to lead in overall vaccination chart
Women recipients continued to maintain lead in overall vaccination chart against their male counterparts in Sangam City.
Statistics also claimed that out of 2,01,891 doses being administered to recipients between May 1 and 15, as many as 1,04,668 females, 93,992 males and 48 transgenders were vaccinated. Officials of health department said more women recipients of all age groups are arriving at Covid vaccination centres in fortnight of this month and as a result, women recipients managed to maintain a lead in overall vaccination against the deadly virus.
Vaccination centres in rural and semi urban areas also witnessed more strength of women recipients ofall age groups.
Since September 2021, women recipients had started taking lead from their male counterparts and January witnessed therecord vaccination of women in the Sangam City compared to other months. In April month, out of 4,51,178 doses being administered to recipients, as many as 2,34,074 females, 2,06,071 males and 126 transgenders were vaccinated. Similarly, out of the 2,77,057 doses given in March, as many as 1,40,846 females and 1,30,607 males and 67 transgenders were administered the shots.
Additional chief medical officer and District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr Teerath Laltold TOI that women recipients are maintaining good lead in overall vaccinationchart in the district till May 15. He added, “If similar trend continues, next 15 days, women recipients would take a major lead in overall vaccination against their male counterparts.”
