SRL Diagnostics become the first lab chain to be integrated with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched by PM Narendra Modi on the 27^th of September, 2021 to strengthen and connect health facilities in India. The aim is to bring a revolutionary change in the way health care is enabled and accessed. Ever since the onset of the pandemic, more and more patients are now opting for digital modes of services, online consultation with doctors and patients prefer to avail healthcare services at home.

SRL Diagnostics is India’s leading pathology laboratory chain and the only lab chain to have developed a proprietary Central Laboratory Information Management System. Today, SRL’s CLIMS is integrated with ABDM for the following capabilities.

1. ABHA number Capture & Verification for seamless patient registration. ABDM Health Id is re-coined now as “Ayushman Bharat Health Account” Number.
2. Building Health Information Provider services (HIP) to share health records via Personal Health Records (PHR) app
3. Developing Health Information User (HIU) services to provide view of patient’s medical history to authorized healthcare workers with complete consent.

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission aims to develop the integrated digital health infrastructure of the country. ABDM is a step towards improving access, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of the healthcare delivery system in the country. The creation of the ABHA number will enable linking, accessing and sharing of a citizen’s health records with consent. One of the other missions is to create a repository of verified healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities across the country.

The National Health Authority awarded SRL Diagnostics with ‘ABDM Integration Completion Certificate’ along with ‘ABDM Integrated Logo’ for successful integration of SRL CLIMS with ABDM. This is a step towards achieving common goal to provided effective healthcare to citizens by enabling innovation and digitally transforming our country’s healthcare eco-system.

The National Digital Health Mission is an important step to support Universal Health Coverage through provision of a wide-range of data, information and infrastructure services, duly leveraging open, interoperable, standards-based digital systems, and ensuring the security, confidentiality and privacy of health-related personal information.
