Sixth suspected corona case: Girl from Italy admitted to Indore hospital

INDORE: Sixth suspected coronavirus patient was admitted to MY Hospital on Saturday night. A 24-year-old girl resident of Indore, who had recently returned from Italy with mild cough, was admitted to hospital’s isolation ward on Saturday.

Doctors had taken sample of her blood and mucus and sent it to laboratory in Pune for testing. The girl informed doctors that she had come to the hospital after developing cough, when she came to know that one of her friends in Italy was detected with coronavirus infection.

Doctors put her in isolation ward and are regularly observing her. She will have to remain under observation till report comes from Pune. Earlier, four persons admitted to MY Hospital on suspicion of being infected with coronavirus were found negative. The fifth one was put under house isolation.

MY superintendent PS Thakur said, “We have put the girl under isolation on being suspicion of coronavirus on Saturday late night. The samples were sent to Pune lab.”

This is the second case, when a patient had directly come to MY despite health department’s claim of screening each and every patient coming to city from foreign countries.
