Positivity rate fluctuates as Covid sampling drops
Covid-19 positivity rate has been fluctuating on daily basis because of a drastic dip in daily testing of samples at par with April 2020.The positive rate on Monday was 2.
The positive rate on Monday was 2.86 percent which was eight times more than the positivity rate reported on Sunday because of testing of only 70 samples, as per daily bulletin records. The testing has reduced with ending up services of staffers working in Rapid response teams/sampling team and other contractual employees. This led to limiting of Covid-19 testing to private diagnostic centres and fever clinics only.
“Now, cases of Covid-19 have dropped to less than five a day. The administration has been trying to normalize things like they were in pre-covid times and sampling has been decreased,” CMHO Dr BS Saitya said.
